Two terms, two roles

Parliamentarian and member of government

In both terms she has held government office at the same time as her seat. From 2021 to 2025 she was a Minister of State at the Chancellery; since May 2025 she has been a Federal Minister. German ministers keep their seats, but they speak in the plenary for the government rather than as ordinary members, and they do not sit on committees.

Since 2025 her constituency work has also covered constituencies 15 and 16 in Western Pomerania, where she maintains a constituency office in Greifswald, in addition to offices in Schwerin and Hagenow. Source: her personal website and the Bundestag profile.
